Travel with Thathpara
Not a tour, but a field study. In small, carefully chosen groups, we travel deep into sacred sites and study them the way we always have — dwelling for days, reading first the prāṇa of the land, then its architecture and iconography, until the place begins to disclose itself.
Not a tour
A queue and a five-second darśana is not why these places were built. We do not rush. We stay — sometimes sleeping on the paths — and give a temple the time it asks for, because the temple studies you as much as you study it. For that reason the groups are small, and chosen with care: those who wish to learn a place, not simply tick it off.
How we travel
We go on foot where the path asks for it, and we begin with nature — the cave, the height, the river — before the sanctum. The great kṣetras are not placed at random; to receive one is to read its setting first. What we record on these journeys becomes the films and field notes you find across this site.
Where we go
- AhobilamThe Nava-Narasiṁha kṣetra — nine shrines across a forested range, reached twenty kilometres into the Nallamala tiger reserve.
- AmarnathThe ice-bound Himalayan cave where the Śrī Yantra and the eternal liṅga meet.
- YagantiThe Uma Maheśvara temple of the Nallamala hills, and its Nandi that tradition holds is growing.
- SomnathThe Jyotirliṅga coast of Saurashtra and its arrow-pillar, the Baan Sthamb.
