A Vedic Camp for Children

Raised in the old way

A twelve-day residential camp that takes children out of the classroom and the screen, and into nature — among cows, on open ground, learning the way we ourselves learned: outside the four walls. The aim is simple — empathy, self-confidence, and the ability to decide for oneself, returned to a generation that has been taught to wait for instruction.

A day in the camp

  1. 4 AMThe day begins to the Hanuman Chālīsā — no one is woken; each child rises on their own and comes to the ground.
  2. DawnTrāṭaka and yoga as the light comes up, then a wholesome drink and a wash.
  3. DayOn the open ground until evening — among cows, in nature, with no screens, the ground prepared so that a fall does no harm.
  4. CloseStillness and rest. On the final day, parents come to see what their children have grown into.

What they learn

Śāstra & śastraScripture and the martial arts together — mardani khel, dand-patta — the way the old kings were raised.
StillnessTrāṭaka, yoga, and meditation — returning the mind to its own quiet frequency.
Self-sufficiencyWashing their own clothes, keeping themselves, living a while without parents or phones.
Sacred scienceThe first rudiments of yantra and the sciences of Bhārat — learned by doing, not by rote.

Why a camp like this

The surest way to serve the country is to serve its children. Our kings of old were taught both scripture and the sword from childhood — and so learned to think clearly and decide in a moment. Apartments and schedules have cut a generation off from nature; when there is no conversation with nature, nature falls silent. For twelve days we give it back: open ground, cows, the discipline of the body, and the stillness in which a child can hear themselves.

The practical shape

The camp runs for twelve days, taught by young teachers drawn from many fields — wildlife, the martial-scripture traditions, yoga — so the children meet the breadth of it. We are still settling a permanent home for the camp; for now we gather children from across Bhārat to one place. Dates, place, and how to enrol are shared with those who ask.
